I grew up in North Georgia with my younger brother. Being the oldest of two children, we learned to rely on each other but developed a very independent spirit at the same time. Our parents worked in the local community. Our grandparents owned and operated a barber and beauty shop from their home. I’d have to say that I inherited my entrepreneurial spirit from them.
From the time that I can remember, the barber and beauty shops were my second home. I learned how to style and cut hair at an early age. Grandmother also taught me how to process hair chemically.
When I got to high school, I was active in cheerleading and 4-H Club. Both activities gave me a strong sense of commitment to my community that remains with me today.
I studied education in college because I love children, learning new things and teaching. When I graduated from college I enjoyed a successful career as an elementary school teacher and later became a public school administrator.
While working in public education I never forgot my early years in the barber and beauty shops and wanted to go back into the beauty industry that I had grown up in. I enrolled in beauty school and graduated with a Master of Cosmetology degree. I also took Advanced Makeup Technique Courses.
I worked in other people’s beauty shops while working in education to gain experience and then opened my own beauty and barber shop.
When I retired from my career in public education, I was prepared to launch my encore career and return to the beauty industry with my own beauty and barber shop.
I volunteer with my local historical society and work to preserve historical local sites. My particular interests are in the history, culture, and genealogy of the Cherokee Tribes.
While in Cosmetology School, I discovered a line of makeup and skincare products that were superior to anything being offered on the market and continue to this day to recommend them to my clients.
When I discovered the real secrets to making money on the Internet I was able to expand my love of the beauty and cosmetic industry to other parts of the country. I enjoy sharing this secret with my friends.
